Installation - Soft Louver Shades

INSIDE MOUNT
Use a carpenter's level to check that the mounting surface is level. If it is not, shim the installation brackets to make them level. A minimum casement depth of 7/8" is required to attach the bracket. The casement must be at least 3 3/16" deep to fully recess the shading.

Add to these minimum depths the dimension of any obstruction to the bottom rail, such as a window crank or handle. Also add 1/4" if an optional back cover is used.

To mount the shading, insert the top of the headrail into the brackets between the locking tab and the bracket flange. Push the headrail into the brackets until the locking tab clicks in place.

To remove the shading, lift the locking tab to release the headrail, rotate the headrail forward, and pull it straight out.

SHADING ADJUSTMENT

You may request an optional
BACK COVER  for inside mount orders. When a back cover is used, attach back cover brackets to the installation brackets before mounting them. Remove the tab from the top of the back cover brackets and both tabs at the rear of the installation brackets. After mounting the installation brackets, install the back cover.

OUTSIDE MOUNT
Use a carpenter's level to check that the tops of the installation brackets are level after they have been attached. A flat vertical surface at least 3/4" high is needed for bracket attachment.

For added clearance, blocks or extension brackets can be used with outside mounts. The half-inch thick spacer blocks are attached between the installation brackets and the mounting surface. Mounting screws must be long enough for a secure installation.

Extension brackets are attached to the mounting surface and then installation brackets are mounted to them using provided machine screws and nuts.

END MOUNT
Extension brackets can also be used to end mount the headrail when conventional inside or outside mounting techniques will not work. For example, in an arched window opening. The extension brackets are mounted at the desired height with their long sides pointing toward the center of the opening. The mounting surface must be at least 1 1/4" wide.

SHADING ADJUSTMENT
After mounting the headrail, lower the shading and then raise it very slowly, carefully watching how the fabric winds on the roll. If the fabric roll winds unevenly or starts to rub against one end of the headrail, stop raising the shading immediately and adjust the level of the rotator rail by turning the leveling screw.

The leveling screw is located under the end cap opposite the cord loop. Using a small screwdriver, turn the screw counterclockwise to raise that end of the rotator rail or clockwise to lower it. Adjust in half-turn increments and check after each adjustment.
