BALLOON ROMAN SHADE_____________________
The Balloon Shade is a formal appearing shade with box pleats 12" to 18" apart at the top and a waterfall of corresponding balloon-shaped poufs at the bottom. Because of the amount of fabric in this style, a Balloon Shade can be very heavy, depending on the fabric and size of the shades. Soft, pliable fabrics tend to drape nicely without much attention. Heavier fabrics may require dressing each time they are raised. Many fabrics when used in this shade have a permanently rumpled appearance. The Balloon Shade can be lined or unlined. To create poufs in the shade, the bottom is pulled up in the back and fixed permanently. This characteristic is visible in sheer, unlined shades of this style.
Note: Except where a sheer, see-through effect is desired we generally recommend lining our fabrics. Lining provides some protection against sun damage and fading. White lining is free of charge, and blackout lining is 10% extra.
